Bio
Shona Macdonald received her MFA in 1996 in studio arts from
the University of Illinois in Chicago and her BFA in 1992 from Glasgow
School of Art in Scotland. She has had selected solos shows at Den Contemporary in
LA, CA, (2007), Skestos-Gabriele in Chicago IL, (2005), Galerie Refugium in
Berlin, Germany, (2002), Julie Baker Fine Art in Nevada City, CA, (2003), and
Fassbender Gallery, Chicago (1998 and 2000). She has also been included in a
painting survey show of recent Chicago painters, entitled, “It Looks Easy”, Gallery
400, Chicago, (1999), and has shown in other group shows in Melbourne,
Australia, and in many galleries in the Midwest, including Cleveland and Milwaukee.
Her work has been reviewed in the national publication, Art in America, Art
News, (Both for Solo Shows) and she has been nominated for a Louis
Comfort Tiffany award, (2002)?. She has been a Visiting Artist at Wimbledon
College of Art London,
(1998), Georgia State University, Atlanta, (2007), the University
of Alberta,
and the University of Calgary, both Canada, (2002). She is represented by Skestos-Gabriele
Gallery in Chicago IL, Den Contemporary in LA, CA and Julie
Baker in Nevada
City, CA.
